Frequently Asked Questions

Q. How much does it cost to convert my existing website into WordPress?

A. This depends on a couple of factors, how much content is on the website that will need to be transferred, what sort of functionality is on the website e.g if there is a contact form this may have to be recreated in the WordPress build as this increases the amount of time it takes to convert a website into WordPress. We consider ourselves to be very competitive with our prices and are confident you will not get a better price elsewhere.

Q. What do you need to convert my existing website to a WordPress website?

A. In order for us to convert your existing website to a WordPress website we would need a copy of your existing website, including all the files, content associated with it. The best way to do this is to provide us with your Control Panel details or if it is just static website, we would only need the FTP details in order that we can get a copy from your existing server.

Q. How long will it take for you to convert my existing website to WordPress?

This depends on the size of your website, any additional function it may already have and if you would like any additional functions adding to it for example a feedback form, calendar, gallery, rss feeds etc. It can take anything from 2-3 days to 2-3 weeks. This would also include making sure it is configured correctly and full testing and QA. Also when we convert your website to WordPress we can put in additional features including SEO all in One, which will makes sure it is Search Engine Friendly, we can add a widget that can speed up the download time of your website and we can also add the Google Analytics widget, so you can monitor the number of visitors you are getting and how you are being found.

Q. Can I transfer my new WordPress website to one of your servers?

A. Yes, we can work either on your existing host package or transfer it in to us. We would much prefer to transfer in to our servers and manage the whole thing that way as it is much easier for us, we are more familiar with our system and we have more control. There are many benefits in doing this as we will be able to offer ongoing support, training, and updates, our servers use state of the art Dell servers in a data centre based in the UK, these are very secure and we are backed up on a regular basis.

Q. Do you offer additional support, advice and training when you have converted my website to WordPress?

Yes definitely and we think this is just as important as converting your website. If you are new to WordPress, we can show you the basics on how to update your website, including editing the text, adding pictures, creating/deleting new menu items and getting the most from it, we can even provide you with a crib sheet with the instructions that you can refer back to at any point. We can advise you on some plugins that you might want to add depending on what you want from your website

Q. What happens to my website while it is being converted?

A. Your existing website will be untouched during the process, we will recreate your new site from scratch in a separate folder or on a domain reference so there is no need to worry. Once we have finished our work we will send you a preview so you can get used to how WordPress looks and how to use it before we make the new site live.

Q. Will my website look different when it is built on WordPress?

A. Your website will look exactly the same as it did before the only difference will be it will be integrated with the best content management system on the planet.

We will be more than happy to help if you wish for us to add extra functionality or if you are interested in a complete redesign as we convert it to WordPress. The choice is entirely up to you.
